I am delighted to share that my latest article has been published in the The Encyclopedia of Contemporary American Fiction, 1980-2020, which was recently published by Wiley-Blackwell. In this article, I provide an overview of the works of Celeste Ng, the author of bestselling novels Everything I Never Told You (2015) and Little Fires Everywhere (2017). I illustrate how throughout her literary career, Ng has sought to understand the motivations behind human behavior and how such behaviors are informed by intersecting systems of oppression like racism, sexism, and classism.
